At Pugh'Wee, we believe food has the power to tell stories, restore communities, and rewrite futures.

Born from the nonprofit Monpugh, we are a mission-driven social enterprise that uses the power of culturally rooted food, wellness, and art to support marginalized communities facing food insecurity, unstable housing, and systemic barriers.

Our name is a nod to both heritage and hope. Through our work, we foster culinary resistance—using food as a form of empowerment, cultural preservation, and emotional healing. Whether it’s the comfort of a familiar dish or the hands-on experience of preparing meals from scratch, food becomes more than nourishment. It becomes identity. It becomes therapy. It becomes transformation.

To combat food insecurity on a broader scale, we deploy refrigerated vending machines stocked with culturally inspired, affordable, ready-to-eat meals. These machines are strategically placed in rural food desert areas, job work sites, and apartment complexes—bringing nourishment directly to communities that need it most. Every meal is prepared with care and purpose, while also serving as a training ground for residents gaining hands-on skills in food service, customer care, and business operations.

We also partner with Monpugh’s sustainable community garden to produce artisan goods like fresh baked items and handmade self-care products. Every purchase directly supports our supportive housing and wellness initiatives, creating a cycle of sustainability, empowerment, and community investment.
